Rick spent the first four decades of his life milking cows before
coming to the Stillaguamish Natural Resources Department as
the field services coordinator, fresh form a mid-life career
change degree in Conservation Technology from Skagit Valley
College. The biologists in the department are charged with thinking
up projects to do and finding grants to fund them; it's Rick's
job to figure out how to do the projects and to spend the money.
When he's not working, he's usually outside somewhere. Rick
thinks lawn mowing and car washing are tasks for people that
can't think of anything more fun to do. Mountain climbing, sea
kayaking, and road biking are more to his liking and he spends
a lot of time with those pursuits. It's a rare person that can't
beat his golf score, however.
If you've got questions about or an idea for a restoration project,
give Rick a call.
